 thanks for replying. unfortunately, no it does not.  the code to be
tested has very specifically been designed to provide an AXI4 *stream*
interface (as well as an AXI4 lite one).  the code may not be modified
(not by me, at least),  rudi from asics.ws very kindly started it:

 this is the code that i found that can do the job:

 note that it has a different interface.  note that the read and write
are completely different, and, i believe, use different signals from
AXI4Lite.

 i just do not have enough expertise to join two or more "unknowns"
together (the MPAC code, axis.py, and more).  if there was only one
unknown (because there was an example to cut/paste) i would be fine.
